Christmas Time 2009

Here we have our Christmas Village this year. I did some things different and I like it but I have so many house's that I reall need a bigger place for them, but I had a lot of fun doing it this afternoon, and I am glad I am done decorating. It has taken me several days to do every thing, I guess I am getting older, can't just whip it out like I use to, I can remember doing my decorating while the kids were at school all in one day, but not any more..... guess I'm just slower. LOL

Any way , I hope all of you are having a great Christmas Season, and that we all will remember the real reason for the Season, Christ our Savior is the greatest gift of all. Love to all.

Thanksgiving 2009

WOW... what a great day, the dinner was great, the company was even better and our hearts are thankful. I am so glad that Marc and Stacie and kids were able to be with us this year, and that the ones that live close were able to be here too. We missed Jenny Erick and Lorelai, but know that they had a good day also. Now we settle in and get ready for Christmas to come. It is going to be a little quiet around here this year, as Marc and family will not be coming here this year but the day after we will be going to their house for the weekend. So our Christmas will be a little different this year as We will have the ones that live next door to us around and we look forward to having the holiday with them.

This year has gone so fast, it is hard for me to believe that a New year is almost upon us. So many things have gone on this year, and each mile stone has been a wonderful journey. All is well ..... that is for sure.

Getting Ready

Well it is almost here, we are expecting our family from Idaho tomorrow evening. We are looking forward to it. Last weekend we went to their home and had a nice time, now they will be coming here for the week, and we will be busy getting ready for Thanksgiving.
I had a very nice birthday, and got a body bugg , it is a program that you were and it monitors your calories burned and activity for the day, it has been interesting and so far so good. It does help you move more because you want to get your burn in for the day, which is the calories the program gives you. I am really enjoying it, if you want to see what it looks like you can watch The Biggest Loser and see it ,is worn on the upper arm. I will keep you posted how I do with it.

We took our trip to Maine, it was a lovely time, we really enjoyed our visit with Mom and Dad, and the rest of the family. We were able to see alot of the folks in Maine this time. It really was nice that Chris and Bruce were able to go this year with me. I took lots of pictures but these are a few of the leaves and colors that we saw, it really wasn't peak time for them yet as you can see there are still alot of green leaves left, but the colors that we saw were pretty. We also had a chance to visit with Jen, Lorelai and last but not least Erick, he came in just as we were leaving on our last day there. It was fun to see where they live and to meet their friends the Greens.

Now we are back home and glad to be here. It is always nice to go visit and always nice to be back home. We are trying to get back to our routines and just get use to being home again. Our weather is great low 60's and sunny. We left in 90 degree weather, and came back to FALL.... I love it.

We also visited Bruces mom while on our trip, she is holding her own right now. She is in a good place and seems to be happy for the most part. It was nice to see her. Well hope you all enjoy the pictures. Until next time, love to each of you.

Wishing for Fall

I can't wait for FALL to arrive here in Utah. It was nice today, only in the mid 70's which was nice. I really am looking forward to leaves turning , cool weather, and pretty days. So as you can see I am trying to do my part to bring it on..... Hope you all have had a great day, I have for sure.

End of Summer

It has been a lovely weekend. We started Sat. evening at Matt and Megs playing Monopoly all evening, it was fun, then yesterday was of course church for every one and we had supper over here as most Sundays, then today every one had the day off, and we had a BBQ at Chris's early this after noon. It was nice too. We played Monopoly again this after noon also and Chris won today, Sat. evening Matt won, I guess next time we will have to play here so Dad can win....lol...

Now we will all get into our routines again now that summer is coming to a close. Of course we will be going on vacation at the end of the month, and we will be looking forward to that.

I have laundry to do tomorrow, and get a few things done around the house, it will be a quiet day I expect.

Busy Weekend

Well it was a very busy weekend, Meg and I went to the Farmers Market on Sat then went and got our peaches and cheeries.. yum. It was Chris' b-day too, so we had a party for him Sat evening at his house, and he b-b-q and we had a movie. It was fun and we missed all of you who could be here for it. Then Sunday, I had to teach Sharing Time at church and my weekly lesson, so I was busy getting that prepared, and then we had our Home Teachers over that afternoon and then the kids came over to officially celerbrate Chris's b-day. All in all it was a busy one. It also has been very HOT and so it is not easy to go out side and do any thing.
Today has been a day of cleaning house, and recovering from the bussiness. All in all it has been nice.

What a great week

It has been a wonderful week, we have had the 3 grandsons here for the week. It has been a fun week, and tiring and funny, and cute, and just plain wonderful. I am so thankful for a family that is such a blessing to us. We thank Marc and Stacie for sharing their 3 son's with us for the week. We are looking forward to having Hannah here in Aug.
I hope the boys have had a great time too, I think they have. We hope that we have made some wonderful memories for them as we have for us. We love each of our grandchildren and wish we lived near each of them so that we could put our arms around them more often and tell them how much we love them. Again what a blessing our family is to us. Love to you all........

First Tomato

I have picked my first tomato and the blooms on my Hollyhocks are finally opening, they are going to be so pretty. I was out mowing my lawn this morning before it got to HOT... it is suppose to be 98 today for the temp. The air conditioner feesl real good these days.

We are looking forward to having our grandson's next week for a visit. Nik, Alex and Sam will be here for the week. We are going to have alot of fun. Then in Aug. Hannah will be visiting with us, when my sister and her kids come for a visit. I am looking forward to that too....

Summer in Utah

I worked out side this morning on my yard, it is suppose to get very hot this week, and since I wanted it done before that hits, I decided to do it early this am. I took pictures of some of the things growing in the yard, I am very happy with the way the yard looks this year.

I am also very glad to be home from traveling last week. We had to go tend to Bruce's mom again, and finally have put her in a home that she will probably be in for the rest of her life. She has gone down hill some since we saw her last in March, and she is now in a secure place where they tend to Alzh. patients.

It has been mighty quiet around here with Meg and Beckham gone, for almost a month. I am looking forward to their return at the end of this week. I have missed them alot. All is well here tho, we seem to keep busy.

Summer in Utah

Here are the black rasberrys, they are just filled to the brim . I am going to have a great crop this year. the other pictures are of the yard and the flowers that are doing so well. We have had such great weather that it is really nice to see every thing growing and not all burned out already.

Well here are some more, they are the flowering plants that are in the back yard. The next to last picture is of a plant that I thought was dead it was under weeds and sits between the two little purple and green plants that we put in the corner, well it has leaves on it and I don't know yet what it is, but it is alive and I am happy to have it there. Any way this is how every thing is growing at the moment. Hope all is growing good at your place where ever you are.
