Summer, Salads and Early Morning's

Summer has arrived and with nice weather comes the challenge of summer meals. Of course there is always hot dogs, hamburg, and the fixings, but some times I get tired of that stuff and so last night I fixed PB&J sandwiches and Broccoli Salad. It was a nice change of pace and tasted great. I made potato salad the other night but served that with Hamburgers. I think I will be doing a fruit salad soon, and I have been using store bought Three Bean Salad already. Of course there is always Toss Salad too and Pasta Salad. I think I will be doing a lot of Salads this summer.

Now Early Mornings, well that hasn't happened a lot as of late, but this morning, Bruce had to be in Salt Lake early so we got up at 6 AM. It gave me a chance to get a lot done before the rest of the house woke up. I was able to read my scriptures, mop my dinning room floor, and kitchen floor. Clean up the kitchen, and  to check my email list. It is nice to have that all done for the day, now I can do some other things that might not have gotten done if I hadn't started so early. It feels good to get going early, and I think maybe I should do it more often. I have gotten into a habit of sleeping in until 8 AM or after and then running behind all day. So maybe I have learned something here, I have been missing out on some precious time by sleeping in later.

Summer is a fun time and I am enjoying the less hectic pace that we are having right now. This year has been so far a whirl wind of events and been very busy. But , as of late it seems like we are slowing down to more normal and although we still have a big move to make later this year, for the most part things are really much more normal. I am thankful for that.

Hope your Summer is going well too.

I am glad to hear life is starting to settle somewhat. I have been pinning a lot of salads myself. It is a good way to have lots of yumminess and not heat up the house. Love ya bunches.

Just maybe there is something to that "sleeping in late and missing the best part of the day" like Dad used to say after all. I seem to be doing that too lately. I am getting ready for the clock to change back to normal time :-)
